I think gender differences are definately evident in blogs. I use to look at the Kiwiblog political site….as, I thought the different opinions, may help educate me more, for my political science papers. I was just looking at the site, on ‘Tom Scott on Form’ and they had a cartoon picture of Helen Clark with a wip in her hands, about to smack the rear end of the Labour Party President. I read all the comments on the blog & they seemed all from males. Which there’s nothing wrong about that. But the terminology of some of the males…surprises me. Like one
guy stating, “playing with the big boys now”. Or, “I thought Helen’s disciplinary weapon of choice was the taser”. mmm, we have to refer it to ‘sex’? Okay….we must therefore….need lots of humor in politics….but, gender differences are definately evident in blog sites. Its almost as if you have to change your style and tone of writing to fit in with the ‘common’ opinion….of mainly one gender of bloggers….well, at least on some sites.
